Centropyge eibli is a dwarf angelfish prized for its silver-grey livery adorned with fine vertical orange lines and black tail. Environment
Minimum volume 200 litres for one individual. Mature reef aquarium with live rock providing caves, overhangs and hiding places. Centropyge eibli naturally grazes algae on rocks. Feeding
Omnivore with herbivorous tendency. Provide daily algae (nori, spirulina), herbivore reef preparations, supplemented with brine shrimp, mysis, chopped krill. Offer 2 to 3 small meals per day. Natural grazing of algae on live rock is essential to its balance. Ensure dietary diversity to maintain colours and vitality.
Tips & tankmates
Territorial with conspecifics and other angelfish; introduce only one Centropyge per tank, unless very large volume. Decent cohabitation with peaceful and moderately robust fish (damsels, gobies, wrasses). May occasionally nip certain soft corals or polyps (LPS, zoanthids), especially if underfed. Observe and adapt feeding. Slow acclimation essential (drip method). Sensitive to stress and disease if water unstable. Respect welfare: swimming space, multiple hiding places, no overstocking.
